Sketch Character Concept

This is a concept design for my next project. Basically he's a war hero who died in battle but during his passing, his soul never went on to the afterlife. The idea of the game would involve the main character searching for the canopic jars that contain his organs, in order to gain back the strength needed to take revenge on the one responsible for his misfortune.

  1. I like the mid character's design the most. He seems to have the most character to him at this point and the asymmetrical nature of his varying arm sizes adds a nice touch. It would be nice to see these designs in complete 360's with color or at least an idea towards color so that we know what feeling the game and character would represent. I like the idea of the game's story and think there are a lot of fun and interesting opportunities to be had in it's design.

  2. I agree with Logan a turn around for the character would be nice to see. Some of the details seem a bit rough but i understand its still in sketch phase.Using muted colors to give it a decaying look will add alot to it as well.

  3. I think you could keep the uniqueness of the middle figure even as he progressively becomes more whole. Even if he is regaining his parts, he is probably still considered "dead", so the bandages that help to make the first few figures so interesting could be kept through his entire transformation. This way, instead of merely appearing to be his normal self at the end of his journey, he has become something new and exciting. (Character development! :D )

  4. i do think color would drastically change how we are supposed to view each stage. Color could act as a device to bring the guy to life.
