Here are some sketches of what I'm considering for my third illustration. I'm thinking about doing something more elegant than playful. I'm leaning more toward the bottom-center illustration (or the more tightly cropped one on the bottom right.) Let me know what you think! Thanks!
right now im really not getting the idea that you are trying to transform something disgusting/negative/what have you, and showing it in a new light. the woman you're depicting is very attractive, and in a way so are her dreads, which really ruins it for me. the fact that she has birds in her hair doesn't scream gross, but rather "in tune with nature". i like the uncropped concept of the girl with the birds. my suggestion is though, dont make her a girl, or if you do, change her into someone dirty, unattractive, someone we relate less to in general.
