I like it a lot, but the pets might be too obvious???? It might clutter the composition, but you might want to add that Ben & Jerry's carton closer to the boyfriend, or, switch his arm's position so that it's reaching toward the food on the door.
i think the cat may be a bit too easy to read. but it all depends on the lighting. depending on how silhouetted the cat is, it might work. i definitely like the vignette in the sketch. but how do you deal with the top edge?

Here's a revised sketch for my next piece. I added more animal shapes to the pets and made the figures very vague.
